3/4 of the Original Smashing Pumpkins Seen In Studio Together

Billy Corgan shared a photo to his Instagram which appears to confirm that three-quarters of The Smashing Pumpkins' original lineup is in the studio together. Corgan, the band's frontman and sole constant member is seen with drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and rhythm guitarist James Iha in a recording studio in Los Angeles.

Iha rejoined Corgan and Chamberlin onstage in 2016, fueling rumors that a reunion of the classic lineup of the band was a real possibility. Corgan also claims to have recently made amends with original bass player D'Arcy Wretzky

The Pumpkins, with Corgan, Chamberlin, Iha and original bass player D'Arcy Wretzky broke up in 2000. Corgan reformed the band in 2006 with Chamberlin, but Chamberlin left again in 2009. 

Corgan recently released a solo album Ogilala in October 2017. Iha guested on one track on the record. Chamberlin released a record with his band The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex called The Parable in November 2017. Iha is currently a member of A Perfect Circle.
