LISA'S ANIMAL TALES: STADIUM CAT SET TO RETIRE

For about a decade, a fluffy black cat known as "Smokey" by some and "Midnight" by others has been roaming around Coors Field in Denver.

Many fans of the Denver Rockies baseball team know about Smokey -- or Midnight -- and have considered him to be "head mouser" at Coors Field.

Well, this cat has gotten to the age where it's time for him to retire to a forever home that's not a baseball stadium.

Once the news got out that Smokey or Midnight was retiring, dozens of applications from baseball fans poured in with hopes of adopting the famous cat.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies, the animal shelter in charge of finding this forever home, has been thrilled with the enthusiasm from fans -- and hopes many of them might want to adopt other cats in the area, even though they might not be as famous as this fan favorite.
